Sunday, June 2nd was the Third Annual Event organized by the Emerald Isle Surf Club. I feel very fortunate to have been one of the volunteers to help first time surfers catch their first wave!
We were blessed with a great day and perfect conditions. A big thank you to all the sponsors, all of the mentors, instructors, and volunteers. What a special community that comes together with a small army to put events like this together. And of course thank you to all the participants and all the parents that drove your surfers out to the beach. We were also fortunate to have Nic Meadows and RWS Surf guiding the first time surfer group. In the 3 years of the event, this was the smoothest execution for that group yet.
